Manuscript Presentation
Manuscript Submission
Manuscript submissions will be made exclusively through the journal management system; manuscripts sent by email will not be accepted.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript complies with the following journal standards before submitting it.
Manuscript Requirements
- Original Work: Works must be original and must not have been published in whole or in part, nor be under evaluation in another journal.
- Format: Manuscripts must be written in Microsoft Word, with Times New Roman font, size 10, justified alignment, and multiple line spacing 1.09 (single).
- Title The title should be brief and clearly express the topic.
- Authors The full names of all authors must be included (no more than five per participating institution). Additionally, the place where the work was carried out must be specified and at the bottom of the first page, the positions of each author, email and address of the main author.
Work Summary
Research papers must begin with a structured abstract in Spanish and English, which must adequately reflect the content of the work. The abstract must include:
- Introduction
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
Additionally, at least 3 keywords should be included, which must be MeSH terms.
Text Structure
The text should follow the following order:
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Bibliography
Case Reports
In case reports, the abstract should be structured as follows:
- Introduction
- Case Presentation
- Conclusion
The text will follow this order:
- Introduction
- Case Presentation
- Discussion
- Bibliography
Bibliography
The bibliography should be numbered according to its order of appearance. According to the Uniform Requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, citations should follow the AMA (American Medical Association) format, with the following order:
Bolea R, Pereyra J, López D, Usandivaras J, Pereyra J, et al. Aprendizaje de la colecistectomía laparoscópica en la residencia. Rev Argent Resid Cir. 2008;13:24-8.
Tables and Illustrations
Tables will be attached on a separate sheet, at the end of the manuscript, after the bibliography. They must include:
- Table numbering according to order of appearance
- Statement (title)
Illustrations should be sent separately, in JPG format (preferably), with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI or 150pp. The figure number should be indicated in the file name. Figure captions will be recorded on a separate sheet, after the bibliography or tables.
Authorship Rights
Authors retain the authorship rights of the work. Only a license is required that allows the journal to publish articles in print and/or electronic form, in any language. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to make grammatical, stylistic and other corrections necessary for printing. Additionally, authors must explicitly declare any possible conflicts of interest.
Ethics in Research and Publication
Authors must adhere to the Journal's Ethics and Scientific Malpractice Statements. The Editorial Board will supervise publications to safeguard ethics. To encourage transparency, the editorial committee may eventually request the study protocol and the database from which the results are derived.
Human Research
Authors must ensure that reported work with human subjects follows the ethical standards of reference committees and the Declaration of Helsinki.
Animal Research
In animal experiments, authors must indicate that the study was conducted following institutional and national standards for the care and use of laboratory animals.
About the Journal
La Revista Argentina de Residentes de Cirugía began publication in 1996, with the collaboration of resident and attending physicians in General Surgery from all over the country. Over the years, the journal expanded nationally and internationally, being published in Spanish and English, and standing out for its commitment to the scientific community and the scientific method.
La Revista Argentina de Residentes de Cirugía will consider for publication works related to various aspects of surgery, subjecting them to double-blind peer review. They may deal with clinical and/or experimental research, case presentations, update topics with or without casuistry, and other forms of publication that are accepted by the Editorial Committee. The publication requirements are based on those established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals): http://www.icmje.org.
The journal does not charge fees for the submission/reception of works, nor does it charge fees for the publication of its articles.
